Last night at the SWF26 event, I had the privilege of playing bass alongside Othneil, lead guitarist and vocalist, and drummer Fred Genivs. What took place on that stage was far more than a performance it was an experience that reminded me of the power of faith, purpose, and surrender.

The energy in the room was incredible. The crowd was electric, engaged, and fully present. Every note seemed to connect with the audience in a way that went beyond entertainment. There was a sense that something bigger was happening.

As a musician, I’m used to focusing on technique, timing, and execution. But during this performance, something felt different. As I played, I didn’t feel like I was in control. Instead, I felt a deep sense of peace and guidance, as if God Himself had taken the wheel.

The bass lines flowed naturally. The nervousnessi disappeared. The overthinking faded away. What remained was complete trust. Rather than trying to force the music, I found myself simply following where it was leading. It felt less like I was playing the instrument and more like I was allowing God to play through me.

Moments like these are difficult to explain to someone who wasn’t there. They remind us that our talents are gifts and that when we surrender them to something greater than ourselves, amazing things can happen. The music became worship. The stage became a testimony.

I’m grateful to have shared that moment with Othneil, Fred Genivs, and everyone who attended SWF26. It was a night filled with energy, connection, and inspiration, but most importantly, it was a reminder that when we step aside and trust God, He can do far more than we ever could on our own.

Some performances entertain people. Others change the people performing them.
